Rouge Challenge from Kayak pour la Vie
With my knee surgery keeping me off the water, last saturday I headed towards the Rouge for an awesome event that has been taking place on the same weekend for the past 3 years. The Rouge being the river I kind of grew up on, both as a raft guide and a kayaker, I was more than happy to help my buddy Jo Arnold to make his event shine!

The Rouge Challenge is a 2 paddlers team race down the 7 sisters section of the Rouge. The goal is pretty simple, get yourself a buddy and try to make it as fast as possible down the 2 class III-IV sections of the river without loosing your friend! But, besides being an awesome fun and challenging race, the Rouge Challenge also provides help to those in need. The profits from every year are equally shared between the research on Cystic Fibrosis and the Halte de la Rouge campground.
With 500$ in the men's category, 200$ in the women's category and prices for grab (awesome L6 gift certificates), faces were serious as paddlers were scouting lines and trying to find the fastest way possible down the main rapids. Again, I can totally say that the day was successful and brought the right amount of fun, challenge, sunshine and smiles to the participants!
